A few that you may not have heard of...

So in this posting I thought that I would talk about a few bands that never got the attention that their music deserved.

The first band is Hallow's Eve.
Hallows Eve were formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983. Founded by bassist, vocalist Tommy Stewart and guitarist, vocalist Skullator. This band is known as one of the earliest bands to pioneer speed and thrash metal! Three records were made in the 80's following the obligatory Metal Massacre compilation appearance, and they then disbanded, scattering to various local area bands.
They are probably most recognized for their song "Lethal Tendencies" that was used in the movie "River's Edge" (if you haven't seen this movie, check it out!) soundtrack. Hallow's Eve's first album titled "Tales of Terror" came out in 1984 with great speed thrash tunes as "Plunging into Megadeath" and "Metal Merchants. This was followed by "Death & Insanity" which the band considered to be a concept album about death. Every song on the album features Death in the title. in 1988 by Metal Blade Records. Many hard hitting tunes on this album including the track from River's Edge. Also released in 1988 was the band's third album "Monument" some of the best head hammering songs on this album was Speed Freak, the title track Monument (To Nothing) and a cool remake of Queens "Sheer Heart Attack".

My favorite song by the band is the afformentioned "Lethal Tendencies" it has that slow and super heavy feel to it, and it is over 6 minutes long which is another thing that I like. Here is a youtube posting of that song. Let me know what you think!

Here is a link to the bands website, looks like they are still rattling heads! Check them out!

Is there any doubt...

What a great weekend filled with Metal Goodness! Friday night I watched and recorded the Iron Maiden Somwhere Back in Time concert footage show, that featured concert clips from all around the world. It was amazing to see Maiden fans from India, all over South America, Australia and many others that were just as fanatical as me. To see kids from India signing along with the classic and new Maiden tunes was just unbelievable. If there was any doubt who the worldwide Gods of Metal are, that doubt has been crushed under Eddie's foot!

Saturday night was just as amazing with the airing of "Flight 666" to see some of the behind the scenes stuff that it took to put together the unbelievable 22 shows in 45 days all over the planet, it was very cool. I just hope that sometime soon Flight 666 will land close enough to Cincinnati for me too see them again.

Today I leave you with one of the many amazing performances from "Flight 666" listen to this crowd from Argentina!
