Welcome Fellow Metal Maniacs to That Metal Beast! What I plan on doing here is celebrating all things Metal, I will feature new bands, bands you may have never heard, and of course pay homage to the Gods of Metal!
A little about me, I have been a fan of Rock and Metal Music for about 30 years (damn I am getting Old!) I have seen hundreds of live concerts all over the world and through all the changes in my life one thing has remained the same, and that is my love for Metal!
It is hard for me to pick one favorite Metal band, but if you put a hot iron to me I would probably scream Iron Maiden. I am a big fan of most all of the classic British Steel bands that include Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and of course the base upon which the Metal Mountain rises from...Black Sabbath.
I suppose that the best way to describe my Metal taste is to say that it is like a road trip in Dragula along Route 666. My tour has taken me from British Steel to the Bay area badasses, in Metallica, Megadeth, Testament and Exodus. A trip to the Motor City to see our friends the Ramones. Then to the Hardcore East Coast with Anthrax, S.O.D. (M.O.D.) BioHazard and Nuclear Assault and we join the Kiss Army while we are there. Then a Rush to the great white north with a sound that is as heavy as an ANVIL! Add in some stops that include Suicidal Tendencies and the Cowboys from Hell Pantera and that should give you a pretty good idea of where I am coming from.
Speaking of 666, the Rocumentary "Flight 666" will be shown on VH1 Classic on June 6th at Midnight, if you are a fan of Iron Maiden DON'T MISS THIS! It chronicles Maiden on their most recent tour "Somewhere Back in Time" where the band loaded up there own plane and Bruce Dickinson (lead singer) flew them from show to show all over the world! I can't wait to see it!

Anvil The Story of Anvil - Now showing at select theaters world wide. This is the story of the great canadian metal band Anvil and how after 30 years they are still rocking and finally getting the accolades that they have long deserved. If you go to this website http://www.anvilmovie.com/ you can also find special shows where the band itself plays after the movie LIVE in the theater. I had the pleasure of attending one of these recently in Cincinnati and it was FUCKING AWESOME! More on this later.
